Loxodes striatus


very flat cell (150-200 µm); predominantly ventrally ciliated; often creeps in interstices of freshwater lakes and ponds eating bacteria. Includes statocyst-like organelles, the suggested function of which is the perception of gravity ("Müller-bodies").
